There is a very important meeting in next 10 minutes, or today is your child’s first day back to school, or the pile of laundry has increased by 10 times over the last few days or there is a major exam tomorrow… life has so many ways to rattle us up ever so often and these are the times when we need to take a moment to step aside and take a breather.

Today’s post lists down 10 ways to instantly relax and re-energize your mind and body to tackle the next challenge life throws at you 🙂

10 ways to relax now!

  1. 15 Deep Breaths

    Now I know you might have heard this a thousand times but trust me, this is the best way to relax your mind instantly. Take a deep breath and count 1…now continue till 15. This is defintely the easiest way to gain the focus back to the task at hand.

  2. A Cup of Hot Tea

    There is a hint of magic stirred in every cup of tea (or green tea/coffee if you prefer that!) Whenever I find myself stuck in a tricky situation I instantly make a cup of ginger tea and most of the times by the time my cup is empty, I feel much better 🙂

  3. Scroll through Beach Pictures

    Oh yeah! This is a fun trick and is approved by the researchers as well! Looking at a picture of a beach tricks your mind into thinking about the peace and the calm associated with it. Try this and thank me later.

  4. Wash Hands & Eyes with Cold Water

    Reason? There are major arteries right underneath the skin, so cooling these areas can help calm the whole body.

  5. Jog on the Spot for 2 Minutes

    Get those happy hormones out of their hiding places! Exerice will release stress from tight muscles and give instantly give a boost of happiness.

  6. Dance to your Favourite Song

    Do I really need to tell you that your favourite song will make you happy? 🙂

  7. Lick a Lemon

    Vitamin C is a great mood booster and this does relax your nerves in a jiffy.

  8. Spray/Smell Lavender Scent

    Lavender is known for it’s ability to eliminate stress. There are vaious ways to incorporate this, be it an essential oil or a perfume or even a flavoured tea!

  9. Talk to a friend

    Don’t we all have that one friend who is always available in times of need? It really helps if you share your anxiety with a friend who might be able to give a few helpful suggestions for the situation (or might just make you laugh our loud, which is even better!)

  10. Procrastinate

    This one will definitely make you happy! Sometimes we overestimate our ability to deliver everything in a single day. So take a second look at your to-do list and try to figure out what can be postponed to the next day 🙂 Even Rome wasn’t built in one day 😉 Cheers!
