5 Ways to reuse Earrings

Hello gorgeous!

I was going through my earring collection today and found that there are a few peices which have left my house and gone missing! Sadly I can’t wear those anymore but hey… there are a few ways to re-use that orphan.

Here are a 5 ways to style that earring and make good use of it.

1. As a Bracelet Charm

dsc_0323dsc_0325dsc_0326

This is a quick way to spruce up a simple chain bracelet and add some dazzle to it. Match the bracelet with the earring to create a monochrome look or mix and match to create a contrast of colours!

2. As a Braid Accessory

This one’s perfect for the upcoming festive season. Dress up your simple braid or even a fishtail braid with an earring to create a fuss free hairstyle.

3. As a Broach

dsc_0310dsc_0311dsc_0315dsc_0318

Looking for a vintage look? Put on the earrings as a broach and voila! And the best part is that you can play around with a boring t-shirt and take it from day to evening wear in no time!

4. As a Maangtika

dsc_0355dsc_0357dsc_0363

I’m sure many of you might have already used this trick in times of crisis! I’ve been in so many situations where the maangtika just breaks at the last moment! Use a tiny safety pin or a bobby pin to secure the earring carefully and you are good to go!

5. As a Kurti Embellishment

A simple and easy way to jazz up any kurti is adding this little dangling charm as a button. Need I say more?

Do let me know in case you try any of these ways and bring your old orphan earring back to good use 🙂

Have a great day!

Quick Apple Pie

The summer has almost ended and evenings have started to get a tad bit cooler in my city. This makes me so happy as it’s now time for hot chocolates and comfy sweaters!

My mom is an amazing baker and I so wish I was even a 10% as talented and hard working as her then I would enjoy these cozy evenings even better 🙂

However, I am a newbie in the kitchen and so I am always on a hunt for easy and delicious recipes. I’d been eyeing this quick apple crumble/pie recipe since a while now and today I finally tried my hands on it.

In just 3 minutes my kitchen was smelling absolutely amazing!! Aaah I can have this every evening 🙂 Perfect dessert for these cold evenings in no time at all. Check out the recipe below:

Summer End Lippies

Hello gorgeous!

It’s September 🙂 aaah the love of winters is not far away! At this time of the year I feel like I don’t wanna wear any bright pink or orange lipsticks shades any more…I am gradually moving towards the darker shades… however not yet time for those deep plums or deep reds as well. So what do I choose?

Here’s a few of my current favourite shades which are perfect for this transition weather 🙂 and these go well with all outfits!

Culture Gully

I was recently in Delhi and got a chance to visit the Culture Gully in the Kingdom of Dreams in Gurgaon city. I had already heard rave reviews about this place from my Delhi friend however when I entered these closed door, I was extremely impressed by the interiors!

It’s a closed area with a massive light blue lit sky overheard which looks spectacular! There are multiple pop-ups of various cities from the country which had a little shop which sell stuff related to the culture of that particular city. There are even restaurants for each theme serving delicacies from all over India.

What else do you need when you can live/taste and experience the entire India in a day J

This is a must visit place in case you are planning a trip to Delhi.

Enjoy the pictures!

10 ways to relax now!

Hello my beautiful friends!

There is a very important meeting in next 10 minutes, or today is your child’s first day back to school, or the pile of laundry has increased by 10 times over the last few days or there is a major exam tomorrow… life has so many ways to rattle us up ever so often and these are the times when we need to take a moment to step aside and take a breather.

Today’s post lists down 10 ways to instantly relax and re-energize your mind and body to tackle the next challenge life throws at you 🙂

Hope this post helps you in some way and reminds you life is as simple as you make it!

10 ways to relax now!

  1. 15 Deep Breaths

Now I know you might have heard this a thousand times but trust me, this is the best way to relax your mind instantly. Take a deep breath and count 1…now continue till 15. This is defintely the easiest way to gain the focus back to the task at hand.

  2. A Cup of Hot Tea

There is a hint of magic stirred in every cup of tea (or green tea/coffee if you prefer that!) Whenever I find myself stuck in a tricky situation I instantly make a cup of ginger tea and most of the times by the time my cup is empty, I feel much better 🙂

  3. Scroll through Beach Pictures

Oh yeah! This is a fun trick and is approved by the researchers as well! Looking at a picture of a beach tricks your mind into thinking about the peace and the calm associated with it. Try this and thank me later.

  4. Wash Hands & Eyes with Cold Water

Reason? There are major arteries right underneath the skin, so cooling these areas can help calm the whole body.

  5. Jog on the Spot for 2 Minutes

Get those happy hormones out of their hiding places! Exerice will release stress from tight muscles and give instantly give a boost of happiness.

  6. Dance to your Favourite Song

Do I really need to tell you that your favourite song will make you happy? 🙂

  7. Lick a Lemon

Vitamin C is a great mood booster and this does relax your nerves in a jiffy.

  8. Spray/Smell Lavender Scent

Lavender is known for it’s ability to eliminate stress. There are vaious ways to incorporate this, be it an essential oil or a perfume or even a flavoured tea!

  9. Talk to a friend

Don’t we all have that one friend who is always available in times of need? It really helps if you share your anxiety with a friend who might be able to give a few helpful suggestions for the situation (or might just make you laugh our loud, which is even better!)

  10. Procrastinate

This one will definitely make you happy! Sometimes we overestimate our ability to deliver everything in a single day. So take a second look at your to-do list and try to figure out what can be postponed to the next day 🙂 Even Rome wasn’t built in one day 😉 Cheers!

When you feel overwhelmed always read this beautiful quote from the Bhagwad Gita, “Inner peace begins the moment you choose not to allow another person or event control your emotions”.
