Everyday Workout Routine

My most favourite health quote of all time is, “Don’t think about what can happen in a month. Don’t think about what can happen in a year. Just focus on the 24 hours in front of you and do what you can to get closer to who you want to be.”  (source: Pinterest)

Most recently I’ve learnt (from my past mistakes of course) that there is no shortcut to health! I’ve tried a few diets which promise to make you lose inches in a week’s time and yeah they do work. However, what after that? I got back to my same old lifestyle and all those kilos come waving back to me 🙂 That’s when I realized that I should aim for a better, fitter and healthier body rather than aiming to lose a few kilos from target areas.

So here is daily workout routine. It’s fairly simple and since I workout at home, it doesn’t require any fancy equipments, just the way I like it.

Surya Namaskar – 10 reps

Jumping Jacks – 50 to 70 reps

Leg Workout – 20 reps

Crunches – 10 reps

Side Crunches – 20 reps

Donkey Kicks – 20 reps

Fire Hydrant – 10 reps

Plank – 1 min

Thigh workout – 20 reps

Meditation – 5 mins

I usually workout before going to work as this charges up my mood for the day and makes me hungry which inspires me to get a good breakfast 🙂 In case I don’t get time in the morning then I make sure I workout as soon as I get back from work, which is then followed by a nice cold shower which gives me a greet good night’s sleep!

I occassionally change my workout to shake things up a bit when I get bored with this routine. I love Zumba so I play some online Zumba videos and get on with it. On other days I simply go for an hour of brisk walking with my husband.
